Now that I have the most beautiful studio, it’s a joy to work in my happy place. So this last week I have been busy because I needed to do a bisque firing of my new stock. The beginning of the week I was covered in dust(wearing a mask so don´t worry) while I was hand sanding all my dry clay pieces. Once I was happy, I loaded the kiln and on Wednesday I programmed a bisque firing. Puffffff!! I had to wait until Thursday before I could open my kiln lid. One eye open I lifted the lid, and all looked good inside, until I got to the bottom shelf. My South African inspired house candle holder had cracked, the bloody chimney broke off. Oh! well I need to make another one. Kiln unloaded, and today I started hand illustrating all the details on two of my wall lights and one planter. This is my best part of the process for me, painting on the details really brings each ceramic piece alive. More painting to do tomorrow!!
